Commsignia Trust Engine Unlocks System-Level Roadway Intelligence for Road Safety

Jun 8, 2026

Today at ITS America, Commsignia announced the official launch of the Commsignia Trust Engine. This multi-sensor, multi-channel roadway intelligence platform unifies infrastructure, vehicle, and cloud road safety data into a single, authoritative operational source of truth, marking a significant evolution from point solutions to system-level roadway intelligence.

Solving the Sensor Silo Problem

As cities and road operators deploy an increasingly fragmented mix of cameras, LiDAR, and radar systems and traffic light controllers, data often remains trapped in silos. These isolated intersections lead to operational blind spots and delayed responses. The Commsignia Trust Engine addresses this by centralizing sensor data ingestion and normalization into a flexible, vendor-agnostic foundation. Bridging the gap between roadside infrastructure and connected vehicles allows agencies to connect what they already own and operate from one coherent, decision-grade picture.

The platform is uniquely positioned at the intersection of V2I, V2N, and cloud intelligence, acting as a bidirectional road safety data exchange hub where cities gain high-fidelity sensor data and OEMs receive verified infrastructure data. This "high-gravity" ecosystem is the foundation for Commsignia's specialized applications, including the newly launched Emergency Safety Suite. While the Trust Engine provides the ground truth, the Emergency Safety Suite leverages this data to empower responders with green waves and real-time collision warnings that isolated sensors could never detect.

“The Trust Engine is built to integrate, not replace,” said Mason Adair, CPO at Commsignia. “When operators see how quickly their cameras, RSUs, and vehicle data come together in one fused view, they can stop chasing data across multiple screens and start making preventive decisions that actually save lives”.

Built with an API-first philosophy, the Trust Engine integrates directly into existing operational workflows and BI tools, recognizing that agencies don't need another mandatory UI, but they need reliable insights. The Commsignia Trust Engine translates raw sensor feeds into actionable intelligence. By detecting Vulnerable Road User (VRU) conflicts in real-time, the platform can immediately distribute alerts and broker messages via V2X and V2N, moving agencies from analyzing past crashes to preventing new ones.

Our Sensor Fusion patent application has recently been officially allowed by the USPTO, ensuring our customers access to exclusive technology found nowhere else.

While V2X is perfect for millisecond-latency, safety-critical decisions, V2N ensures immediate awareness. This unified architecture perfectly aligns with ITS America’s "Beyond 5.9 Deployment Plan", proving that 5.9 GHz direct V2X and cellular V2N are not competing technologies, but complementary pillars of a modern, trusted roadway.

Live Demonstrations at Booth #4070

During ITS America 2026, Commsignia is showcasing the Trust Engine’s power through live demonstrations. The installation highlights a Vulnerable Road User (VRU) protection use case, where multiple live camera feeds are fused into a single, high-confidence object model. This proves the platform’s ability to reconcile multi-source perception into one decision-grade picture, generating real-time alerts for at-risk pedestrians for immediate response while storing historical data for post-incident safety analytics.
