Immediate improvements in traffic require reaching the widest possible range of road users. Commsignia is using both direct V2X and long-range V2N to provide access to connected vehicle use cases and standardized services.

Exceptional quality of service is one of the key parameters of vehicle-to-network connectivity. Our aim is to provide a viable roadmap for our customers who do not yet have direct V2X, from improving awareness to significantly better road safety. Unified and refined network APIs benefit consumers of V2X data, who can easily integrate through the connectivity layer offered by Commsignia.

During the ENVELOPE project, the latest 5G features, including network slicing and QoS-on-demand are being trialed for V2X services and use cases. Commsignia will be demonstrating novel functions that harmonizes the 5G network and the direct V2X short range connections in order to gain unique data efficiency and highly optimized network coexistence. Commsignia’s V2X application server will be deeply integrated into the 5G core, provided by TNO, in order to reach these goals.

ENVELOPE in a nutshell

The aim of ENVELOPE is to improve the 5G advanced architecture to make it more open and vertically-oriented, and enable closer integration between the network and the service information domains.

To reach these goals, ENVELOPE is exposing network capabilities to vertical industries, provides vertical information to the network, and allows verticals to dynamically request and modify key network parameters. All of this is achieved in an open, transparent, and semi-automated way, making it easy to use.
