V2X services, and the functions built on top of V2X, enhance positioning and navigation. The automotive ecosystem used to rely on a single source for positioning. However mobility today requires robust and reliable location services, realized by accessing multiple data services with varied properties. Commsignia V2X services can enhance positioning through the  secure, low-latency transfer of augmentation data (e.g. via RTCM) between traffic participants or from traffic infrastructure. V2X also enables a constant awareness of the nearby environment which provides critical additional information about, for example, nearby vehicles perceived by the sensors of a vehicle: not only the position of each vehicle in or out of sight is known, but also their past and future movements and location. These data points greatly help safe and highly efficient maneuvering. Furthermore V2X is capable of transmitting intersection geometry information in order to allow secure signal phase broadcasts for each lane and in some cases even enables requesting a signal change.
